Emily Frey
Export official for DeVilbiss Co., member of first UT basketball team
Emily F. Frey, 92, of Barrington Drive, an employee of DeVilbiss Co. who worked overseas, died Monday in Lakepark Nursing Care Center, where he had been a patient for the last month.
The widower of Alma Frey, Mr. Frey was an employee of the DeVilbiss Co 50 years in the sales and advertising departments, retiring in 1964. He later had special duties for the company in export managment in Brazil and Germany, retiring in 1970.
He was a graduate of the former Toledo Central High School, later attending the University of Michigan and the University of Toledo, and was a member of the first UT basketball team.
He was a charter member of Memorial Lutheran Church an dan honorary member of Sylvania Country Club. He was a past president and founding member of the West Toledo Exchange Club, and was a member of the Toledo Advertising Council. He was an army veteran of World War I.
Surviving are his daughters, Mrs. Virginia Wallace and Mrs. Marjorie Brown; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Family graveside services will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. in Memorial Lutheran Church. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are by the Foth-Dorfmeyer Mortuary. 7
