Immigrated to the United States from Germany when she was 18. She came alone on the boat and was the first one from her immediate family to come here. Later her other brothers and sisters followed her although her parents remained in Germany
Listed in census as coming to the US in 1891 and being naturalized in 1899. Her birthplace was listed as Bummer, Germany and the same for both her parents. It was very difficult to read the birthplace on the census records.
