One of the most notable weddings held recently in the county was that solemnized Wednesday evening of last week at 6:30 o'clock when Miss Margaret Gregg was given in marriage to Thomas Dorrell.
The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ira. T. Gregg and the groom, the son of Mrs. Marcella Dorrell, the participants both living southwest of Greeenwood, and being among the best known and most popular young people of the county.
The ceremony was pronounced by Rev. C. A. McCon? of Whitland Methodist church in the presence of one hundred and twenty-five guests. The house was decorated in white roses and liies, and suspended from the the front verenda was a beautiful wedding bell made of honeysuckle, under which the bridal couple stood while taking the marriage vows. The bride looked charming in a costume of old ivory crepe de chene over white silk trimmed in pearls. She carried an arm bouquet of Bride's roses. She wore a necklace of amethests and pearls. The bridal couple was preceded to the altar by masters marion and Hershel Gregg, daintily attired in white who strewed rose petas in their path. During the ceremony " Hearts and Flowers" was rendered by Miss Fancis Cahill of Inidanapolis, cousin of the bride, with violin accompaniment by Taylor Dolen. A program of bridal music was rendered before and after the ceremony by an orchestra.
Refreshments of Neapolitan cream and cake were served and the guests given a piece of the bride's cake as favors.
Mr. and Mrs. Dorrell after a short wedding trip will be at home to their friends after June 28th in their newly furnished house, southwest of Greenwood.
The out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Shera of Columbus, Mrs. Leatherrock , of Hartsville, Mr. and Mrs. Will Dorrell of West Newton, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Repass, of Zionsville, Mrs. Sarah Cahill and daughter Mrs. Mary Davis and son Charles Sturrivr, Mr. and Mrs. Mary Wayne and duaghter, Margaret of Indianapolis, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Dorrell, Indianapolis.

Mrs. Margaret Dorrell
Crawfordsville, Ind. (Spl.) - Mrs. Margaret Dorrell, 81 years old, widow of Thomas Dorrell, former state senator, died yesterday in the Witham Hospital at Lebanon. A native of Johnson County, Mrs. Dorrell had resided in Montgomery County since 1938. She was a member of the Darlington Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Roy Coons of Franklin and Mrs. Wayne Brown of Jonesboro. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 am Friday in the Bright Funeral Home at Darlington. Graveside reites will be held at 2:30 p.m. Fridaty at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery near Franklin
Last Rites for Former Darlington Resident
Darlington - Funeral services for Mrs. margaret Dorrell were held Friday morning in the Bright Funeral Home. Rev. James C. Stansell, pastor of the Darlinton methodist Church, and Rev. Benjamin A. Friend, pastor of Second Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Franklin, were the officiating ministers. Curtis Bright played organ selections before and after the services, including requested hymns. "Jesus Joy of Man's Desirin" and "Lead Kindly Light." Serving as pallbearers and assisting with the flowers were Joyn Hellinger, Charles Williamson, George Bottom, L.L. Martin, Otto Lough and Rev. A. L. Vermillion, all of Darlington. Graveside rites were held Friday afternoon at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Glens Valley, near Franklin.
