General Notes:
From Pennsylvania according to his son's birth certificate
Census information: 1840 Census - two families in Berks co, PA - Jacob and William. They are both old enough to be the father of Thomas F. However there is no listing of ind. family members in the early census.
1850 census - family in Berks County, Cumru Twp, Pennsylvania Thomas, Elizabeth, Catharine, and Rufus. He is listed as a carpenter with personal property worth $800
1860 Census - family in Thompson Township, Seneca Co, Ohio - where Flat Rock is. Thomas, Elizabeth, Catharine, Luther, Parmitta, Anna, Amelia, Franklin. He is listed as a butcher with personal property worth $700. This is the only record that lists Luther, Parmitta and Anna. I think they are really Rufus, Emaline and Timothy. The ages are correct. Perhaps these are their real names as opposed to nicknames. But does not explain Timothy becoming Annna.
1870 Census - family in Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio - Third Ward Thomas, Elizabeth, Rufus, Emaline, Timothy, Amelia, Frank, Thomas, Libbie. The first four are listed as being born in PA and the youngest five children were born in Ohio. He is listed as Tinsmith and Rufus is a Tinner.
1880 Census - family in Leavenworth, Kansas Thomas, Timothy, Amelia, Libby, and Thomas. He is listed as a Farmer and Timothy as a Laborer. Timothy is listed as being born in PA and the other 3 children as in Ohio. Thomas F. is listed as a widower.
